Marvel Collector Corps August 2015 Unboxing - Secret Wars

I know I said I was going to be back on Sunday, but I hate counting Unboxing posts as "official posts" since it isn't terribly original, is it?  Plus, I don't know that I could wait until Sunday to show this box off!

If you aren't familiar with Marvel Collector Corps, it's a bi-monthly subscription box that is actually put together by Funko.  Considering that I have quite a Funko addiction and that I love Marvel, it was a no-brainer for me to sign up for this.  You are able to pay month-by-month or pay in one lump sum and be in the Hero Program, where you get an exclusive collectable on the anniversary of your membership.  I ended up going with the Hero Program (then Founders Program) and I haven't been disappointed since!  The first box was The Avengers, which coincided with the movie, and June's box was Antman, again to coincide with the movie.  The only other Marvel movie that came out this year was Fantastic Four, and although I believe that's what they originally had planned for this month's box, they ended up going with Secret Wars instead.

I will admit that I don't know a whole lot about Secret Wars.  I read Thors and I read X-Men '92, but those don't really going into a whole lot of detail about what's going on in the other realms.  I do know that Dr. Doom is, like, the overseer of everything because the Thors talk about how they don't want him to know about crimes.  Since Thor was on the box, I was hoping that she would have a Funko but I didn't want to get my hopes up too high.

Just the boxes alone get me so excited.  I can't bring myself to get rid of them, which is fine since they're perfect for storing my comic books in!

Each Collector Corps box always comes with a patch and a pin.  This month, we're getting Captain America for the patch and Iron Man.  I'm assuming this is the James Rhodes Iron Man though since it's silver?  I clearly don't understand Secret Wars.

Then we get to go under the flap and look at all the other fun stuff we get!

Every month you get a t-shirt and I love this!  We get Thor, Iron Man, Cap and Spidey in all their Funko cuteness.

Next up, we get a super adorable variant of Secret Wars.  It's actually a pretty hefty book and it looks like it details out the beginning of the Secret Wars so I'm interested to actually sit down and read it.  It also gives you a nice chart of all the different realms and who is where.  Plus I'm IN LOVE with the cover.  I never read Thor before (even though I do enjoy him), but when I read that Thor was going to be a lady, I was all in.  I actually loved the run and I'm stoked how much play she's getting in this box!

And now, for the really good stuff, the Funkos!  Every box guarantees you one exclusive Funko.  This box, however, you got TWO!

I'm not the biggest Spiderman fan outside of the movies, but I love him anyway!  He's adorable and I like the color changes on the costume.

In the famous words of Daniel Bryan: YES! YES! YES! YES!  Like I said, this is what I wanted the most out of this box and I was SO excited to get this!!  She is the most adorable little Thor there ever was.  Ever little part of her is perfect.  Her little Mjolnir, her little helmet. Ah, I am so happy!  She has a happy home with my Thor Funko Fabrikation.

All in all, I really liked this box!  I always get bummed that I have to wait two months after I get my box because they're just so cool.  I'm excited to see what the next theme is.  If you're interested in this, you can subscribe and still get this box!  These Funkos are exclusive to the Collector Corps, although other retailers will sell them for crazy prices.  The Hulkbuster Iron Man I got in my Avengers box I saw went go for around $50 at some online stores so these definitely go up in price.  It's only $25 (plus potential shipping/tax).  You should jump on this if you haven't already!
