Fall TV | What I'm Looking Forward To

Like all basic white girls, I love the Fall.  Everything good happens in the Fall.  Pumpkin all the things, leaves changing, cooler weather, sweaters, leggings and boots.  Halloween is in the Fall.  Thanksgiving is in the Fall.  And Fall TV is in the Fall.

I'm hoping I'm not the only one who gets a little overwhelmed around Fall TV Premier time.  I've spent my entire summer on no schedule because I don't really watch many shows over the summer, but now I feel like there is so much out there!  I was talking with my friend at work today and said I need to make a schedule so I can keep track of everything.  And friends, that's what I'm here to do.  It seems a little ridiculous but with so many old favorites coming back and new things to check out, I don't want anything to get lost in the shuffle!

One thing that does kind of make things easier is that most shows I wait until the weekend to watch with Jon.  Since we don't live together and we mostly see each other on the weekends (if it's during the week it's usually to watch hockey), I have a little more freedom to do things during the week.

I'm going to break everything out by day, and anything that I usually watch with Jon I will put a (J) next to it.  There are some new shows that I'm unsure of how we'll watch but we have plenty of time to figure that all out!  Also, there will be some spoilers so don't read about anything you're planning on watching!

Gotham (Fox) (J)
I loved this show last year.  I know it got mixed reviews but honestly, I enjoyed it from the start.  I'm excited to see more villains in it this year, which is what they've been promoting, and it'll be fun to see what Bruce finds in his Dad's secret cave.  I'm also interested to see how they handle Barbara since we know that Jim ends up with a Barbara, but maybe it won't go that way in this version.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS) (J)
I love this show so very much.  It is just the most wonderful of shows.  I can watch every episode a million times (which I do thanks to TBS) and still love it.  This year, by the looks of it, we're definitely getting a Penny/Leonard wedding, but could we also be getting a ShAmy wedding?!  I can't even imagine what that would be like.  As much as I don't want it to happen for the show's sake, my curiosity wants it more!

Supergirl (CBS)
I am SO excited for this show.  DC does TV right, and the trailer for this show makes it look so good!  Plus, Jeremy Jordan is in it and I absolutely loved him in Smash (*shakes fist at NBC*) so I'm excited to have him back.  This just looks like it's going to be fun and loaded with girl power and I am so all about both of those things.

The Muppets (ABC)
I LOVE THE MUPPETS!  This show is going to be so much fun.  The trailer makes it look really funny and the whole Kermit/Miss Piggy divorce situation is bound to lead to some super juicy situations.  I'm just hoping for lots of Rizzo The Rat and Pepe The Prawn.  Two of my favorites, both vastly underrated.

The Flash (CW)
This is the second season of The Flash and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us.  The first season was so.good. so I'm sure the second season will be even better.  Plus there are so many shows in the growing DC TV spectrum that there have to be cross-overs all over the place.  Also, more Jesse L. Martin is never, ever a bad thing!  There was a lot of crazy time travel stuff in the first season, and the way that the season ended leaves a lot of questions up in the air.

The Grinder (FOX)
This is a new show that I'm up in the air about watching, but I think I'll give it a shot.  I love Rob Lowe and the show just looks really silly.  It's not a huge commitment to give a new sitcom a shot so I think I'll throw this one into the rotation.

Scream Queens (FOX)
This is another new show but it looks like a lot of fun.  I love American Horror Story (more on that soon!) so I'm excited to have (what looks like) a lighter, more funny horror-type show to enjoy since AHS can get a little... weird.

The Mindy Project (HULU) (J)
I was so upset when FOX cancelled this show.  I didn't understand since it is so funny and so good and Mindy is just perfect.  When HULU picked it up, it was such great news.  This show started up last week and Jon and I watched the first episode over the weekend.  I was a little worried that the show wouldn't translate as well off network TV (see:  Arrested Development), but it really felt exactly the same.  I don't know if there's a budget difference from FOX to HULU but if there is, you couldn't tell.  Thank goodness because this show is just perfection.

Arrow (CW)
OLICITY!!!!!!  FINALLY!!!!  I binge-watched the first two seasons last year right before the third season premier, and all I wanted was for Oliver and Felicity (biggest girl crush ever) to get together.  AND THEY DID.  And it won't last and things will fall apart and crumble and be devastating and break my poor little heart, but I'll take the small glimpse of what can be while I can.  I need my crew back.  I need my Felicity and my Oliver and my Diggle.  I'm very excited to see what happens this season!

The Middle (ABC)
Sue is going off to college, Brick is the only Heck child left in the house, Axl is kind of being a good older brother.  But the Hecks are the Hecks and I love their crazy shinanigans.  Bring on the crazy!

The Goldbergs (ABC)
I just started getting into this show last year and I don't know what I was waiting for.  I didn't grow up in Philadelphia, but I live in New Jersey outside of Philadelphia so I can imagine how things were back then, especially with the sports.  This show makes me laugh so hard and I can't wait to have it back!

American Horror Story (FX)
This year's "theme" is Hotel and it looks really weird.  I thought that last year's was going to bother me since I hate clowns and really all things circus, but that one didn't bother me too much.  This one, however, looks like it has some promise in that arena.  I'm just hoping Lady Gaga doesn't take me out of the show too much.  I trust Ryan Murphy but I hate stunt casting, and that's what I feel like this is.  We shall see.  Regardless, it looks really messed up.

Sleepy Hollow (FOX) (J)
Last year's season finale kind of broke my heart with the time travel and Ichabod not knowing Abbie and then the whole other aspect of her being back in time when there was slavery.  Lots of sticky situations afoot, but Ichabod, knowing her or not knowing her, won't let anything happen to her.  Right?!  I hope not.  I love the dynamic between the two and I can't wait to see what this season has in store.  The show starts up next Thursday and I haven't seen any trailers or any promotion for the show at all so I honestly have no idea what to expect.

Girl Meets World (Disney Channel) (J)
We've been watching this from the start and it isn't really "Fall TV" per se since it's been on all summer, but I just adore this show to pieces.  Being a 90's girl, I grew up on TGIF and Boy Meets World.  It was and is one of my favorite shows.  This show does such a wonderful job of tying together the old show with the new show and teaching the same life lessons I learned as a kid to a whole new generation.  It also makes me cry every single week without fail, so there's that too.

The Walking Dead/Talking Dead (AMC)
Bring unto me crazy Rick.  I LOVE crazy Rick, for he is the best Rick, and it looks like Rick is all sorts of crazy in this season.  I don't blame him.  Also, YES MORGAN.  I'm excited to have Morgan back in my life on a full-time basis.  I'm excited for new characters, I'm excited for Carol, I'm excited for Michonne, and I'm excited for my weekly therapy sessions with Chris Hardwick.

I'm also looking forward to non-drama/comedy shows, like Shark Tank, Beyond The Tank and we're already into Bering Sea Gold.  New Girl usually comes back in the Fall but that apparently isn't coming back until January so I'll have to wait a little longer for that one.

How about you?  What are you looking forward to?!  Is there anything you think I'm missing out on?  Let me know in the comments below!
