Alright guys, it's time to get back in the swing of things here on this blog, and no better way to get back into it than with a Funko series review!
If you are a child of the 90's, you are probably more than familiar with the cinematic adventure that is Space Jam. If you aren't, fear not, much like most other successful 90's franchises, this is also getting a remake and will star LeBron James.

In a nutshell, the movie consists of aliens, Michael Jordon and Looney Tunes. And it is fantastic. It also has an amazing soundtrack that paired well with the Jock Jams craze. Overall, it ranks up there as one of my favorite movies. The animation and live action combination is seamless, and it is just a funny and enjoyable journey from start to finish.
That all being said, when I heard that Funko was going to be putting out a line of Space Jam Pop's, I knew I needed all of them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I really would like them to add more characters to the line since there are obviously lots of Looney Tunes, and plenty more aliens, both in their regular and Mon-Star forms. So let's take a look at Wave #1!
First we have two of the villains from the movie. Well, really one villain in my eyes. The poor aliens were just used as pawns, really, and (spoiler alert), they end up staying with the Looney Tunes at the end because they're way more fun than their jerk of a boss. So our blue friend over here is one of the aliens in his Mon-Star form. Basically, all of the aliens steal the talent of famous basketball players and grow to be massive and intimidating opponents to the Looney Tunes in a high-stakes game of basketball.
On the right is Swackhammer, the owner of the amusement park that the aliens work for. They're basically his little lackeys and are sent to try to kidnap the Looney Tunes because Swackhammer feels that the kids coming to his amusement park are bored and would appreciate the Looney Tunes brand of humor.
And then we have some familiar characters! I'm sure you all know these guys, right? Taz, Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian. Classic characters! I grew up in a household that watched Looney Tunes all the time, which is probably why this movie ranks up there are one of my favorites. My Dad grew up on the cartoons, and when they started replaying them on TV, he was sure to show them to my brother and I. We both enjoyed them, and still do to this day!
My wishes for the next wave would be Lola, who is the super badass lady bunny that catches Bugs' eye. Just don't ever call her doll! I also would like the tiniest little alien. He was my absolute favorite! I would like to have a couple of them in their regular form. Maybe they could have them paired with their Mon-Star form. I would totally be down with that!
Are any of you Space Jam fans? Are you picking up any of these guys? Who would you like to see in the next wave? Let me know in the comments below!
